CCAD Illustration Capstone Pt 1: Surface Design Collection
As an Illustrator, I want to focus on creating surface designs. Surface designs are created to be applied to various surfaces, hence the name. They can be both standalone or repeating patterns. Surface design is everywhere. From clothing, to furnishings, and stationary.
This project will help me gain experience and knowledge that I can use to run my own small business. The work produced from this project can be included in my portfolio to showcase my surface design abilities.
In the first part of my capstone project, I will be creating a surface design collection. The theme will be dreams and nighttime.
Mood board
I took a lot of inspiration from Lolita Fashion and the heavy use of patterned fabrics in the style. I want to include different repeats in the collection as well as provide different color for the collection.

I made 4 seamless patterns and 2 repeat border patterns. The final collection features the patterns with 3 different colorways.
